PILATES at the Studio

Pilates is a form of exercise designed to condition and connect body and mind, correct muscle imbalances, improve posture, and tone the entire body. A unique system of exercise, it can be practiced on a mat or on several different pieces of apparatus, some with spring for resistance.  One of the best things about the Pilates method is that it works so well for a wide range of people. Athletes and dancers love it, as do seniors, women rebounding from pregnancy, and people who are at various stages of physical rehabilitation. Even teams such as the Oakland Raiders have their players training in this method.

At Physical Edge, clients have the option of individualized mat and apparatus classes with one of our certified instructors. At your first one-on-one visit to our studio, your instructor will focus on becoming familiar with your health history as well as your previous and current activity level. Unless you have previous Pilates experience, we will also begin by learning some of the fundamentals about your spine and movement patterns.

We offer private, one-on-one instruction, duet sessions which allow you to share with a friend, and semi-private group classes which allows between 3-5 people to share a class on the Reformers or in a rotating circuit-format.  All sessions on the equipment are by appointment & last 50-55 minutes. Cancellations with less than 24 hour notice will be charged for a session or deducted from your package.

Individual Sessions
Individual sessions may utilize the Reformer, the Cadillac, the Wunda Chair & various small apparatuses as well as initial mat work.  Sessions are tailored to the needs of the individual & are the best way to learn the fundamentals of Pilates before moving into group classes.  These sessions are also an excellent way to address specific fitness or rehabilitative goals.

Single Session: $70
Package of 5: $325 ($65/session)
Package of 10: $600 ($60/session)

Duets Sessions
Like individual sessions, this session is ideal for two people who want to work together with one instructor in a more intimate setting as opposed to sharing with a group. The instructor designs a workout to accommodate the needs of both students. All pieces of the apparatus may be used in duets. We recommend you find a partner at a similar ability level or we can help match clients.

Single session: $40
Package of 5: $175 ($35/session)
Package of 10: $320 ($32/session)

Small Group Sessions
Small group sessions are defined as an established group of 3-5 students with one instructor on the equipment.  This is a powerful workout designed to balance, strengthen & lengthen the muscles of the entire body while focusing on all planes of movements for a highly balanced routine.  Prerequisite is the 5 Week Beginner Reformer series, prior private or duo sessions or instructor approval.

Single session: $35
Package of 5: $150 ($30/session)
