Physical Edge Classes: Spring 2007

This Spring, Physical Edge is continuing its FREE monthly classes to its members as well as the community on a variety of topics to help improve a person’s health and wellness. The one-hour sessions will be hosted by Physical Edge personal trainers and certified therapists.  In addition, free one-hour personal training sessions will raffled off to those in attendance. All classes will meet in the Physical Edge South Multipurpose Room.   


Iron Golfer: Tips to Avoid Physical Handicaps

April 24th
7:00-8:00 p.m.

This interactive session will explore the body mechanics in the game of golf.  Learn how to prepare yourself through functional exercise so that you can play longer, stronger, and better.  Also learn about common injuries to golfers and how to avoid them.

Cross Training for Swimmers

May 22nd
7:00-8:00 p.m.

Swimming is a wonderful exercise for strengthening the whole body, achieving cardio-vascular gains, toning muscle and increasing endurance but there are ways to improve without having to increase your number of laps.  At this session, you will learn specific tips on how to improve your swimming with the help of therabands, machine routines, abdominal and back muscle exercises, stability balls and a variety of pool drills. These techniques can enhance your flip-turns, stroke length, rotary breathing and other aspects of swimming so that you will get the most out of your workouts.

Integrative Functional Training for Runners and Triathletes

June 26th
7:00-8:00 p.m.

This hands-on workshop will engage participants in a range of techniques and options to enhance their running performance.  These techniques will include core and strengthening exercises, stretches and cross-training using ellipticals, aqua jogging, cycling and swimming.  Learn how these techniques can be readily incorporated into your individual program and goals.
